Your Building Report

What's involved?

Informed Building Reports is a “boutique” inspection business.  All reports are carried out by the principal, Chris Dyce personally. He is a licenced builder and accredited consultant.  This business does not subcontract inspections to random inspectors and is not operated by tech platform entrepreneurs. We resist carrying out vendor reports unless the vendor requires an "honest" and often "unflattering" expose of their property. Our service is considered above extraordinary.

The INFORMED visual building and timber pest report takes around 2-4 hours of investigation on site and approximately 2-3 hours drafting the report. This covers physical inspection of the accessible roof area, roof void, internal areas, wet areas, subfloor and timber pest activity, including external areas - and any other unique requirements.

Your inspection includes consideration for compliance with Building Standards and Codes to ensure that you have the facts about visual defects, safety, and maintenance requirements - regardless of the age of the building.

A cursory verbal report may be given on completion of the inspection. However, it is strongly recommended a thorough reading of the report and discussion of the findings with the inspector be considered, before making any purchase decisions.

The written report is usually available within 24 hours (depending on the location, size of property and complexity of defects) by email, compiled using the Report Master 3D Inspection System.

Your report will thoroughly describe the properties existing defects, with captioned photos identifying those areas and also give recommendations on general building maintenance. 

Estimates of repair costs can be given if required.
